My eSIM is installed but I have no data

Usually one or two phone settings need changing. Work through these checks in order, testing after each one.

Please don't delete the eSIM while you troubleshoot. Once it's deleted, it may not be possible to install it again.

Check the basics

  1. Are you in a country your plan covers? The eSIM only connects in the countries your plan lists, so no data before your trip is normal.
  2. Has your plan started, and does it still have data? Your order shows when the plan starts (at purchase, at installation or at first connection) and whether it is active, used up or expired.
  3. Turn Wi-Fi off while you test.

Your plan's status, coverage and remaining data are on the order page in your account.

Check your phone settings

Still no data?

  • Restart your phone.
  • See which network the eSIM is on (Network Selection on iPhone, Network operators on Android). If none is shown, turn off automatic selection and choose a network from the list.
  • Most travel eSIMs set the APN for you. Only change it if your installation details give one, exactly as written.

Still stuck? Contact support and send, in one message:

  • your phone's make, model and software version;
  • what you see: no signal, signal but no internet, or an error (a screenshot helps);
  • which network the eSIM shows, if any;
  • the city you're in, or a map link;
  • when it started, with your time zone.
