What happens when my plan runs out or expires?
A plan ends in one of two ways: you use up its data, or its validity period runs out. What you can do next depends on which one happened.
When the data runs out
The eSIM stays on your phone and the plan is still valid, but it has no data left. Plans with a daily allowance or a slower speed after a limit work as described on the plan page.
If your plan takes top-ups, you can add data to the same eSIM straight away. You may also get an email as your data runs low, with a link to top up.
When the validity period ends
The eSIM expires. On most plans, no more data can be added after that, and you need a new eSIM to keep going.
Some plans can still be topped up for a limited time after they end. The length is set per plan: when the network has confirmed it, the plan page says how many days it lasts, and during that time the top-up options keep appearing on your order page. Once the window has ended, buy a new eSIM.
When you need a new eSIM
- The eSIM has expired and has no top-up window, or the window has ended.
- The eSIM was cancelled.
- The plan doesn't take top-ups.
- You are going somewhere the plan doesn't cover.
You can install a new eSIM next to the old one. Browse plans to choose one.
Check where your eSIM stands
Sign in and open your order. Each eSIM shows its status, how much data is left and its top-ups. If it can't be topped up, the top-up section says why. Without signing in, enter the eSIM's ICCID on Top up. If data can still be added, the page shows the packages; if not, it says data cannot be added to that eSIM.
If your plan ended earlier than you expected, contact support with your order details.
